Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment

IMG_4194.jpg

Allergy is a common condition associated with increased sensitivity of the immune system to external irritants. It can manifest in various ways: from urticaria to serious allergic reactions such as angioedema or anaphylactic shock. Our team of specialists conducts comprehensive allergy diagnosis and treatment based on international protocols and clinical guidelines, as well as the individual characteristics of each person.

Who Is It For

Adults and children over 5 years old, if you have:

  • Allergy symptoms: skin rashes, flaking, itching, tearing, runny nose, cough (especially with seasonal manifestations)
  • Known reactions to contact with allergens: food, pollen, pets, dust, mold, insects, medications
  • Episodes of difficulty breathing, wheezing, bronchospasm (suspected respiratory involvement)

The diagnosis helps identify the causes of the body's immune response, rule out or confirm allergic diseases, including allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, and bronchial asthma.

The doctor assesses the patient's overall condition, identifies risk factors, and provides personalized recommendations for allergy prevention and treatment.

This approach forms the basis for an accurate diagnosis and helps prevent the development of complications in a timely manner.

What Is Included in the Examination

Laboratory Diagnostics
  • Total IgE + component panel (ALEX2) — helps determine the type and degree of the body's sensitivity to the allergen causing the immune response
  • Complete blood count, biochemical blood analysis, and, if necessary, tests using additional allergic markers

Important: "Food intolerance" tests (IgG tests), which are often called an alternative to allergy tests, do not reflect the presence of allergy. They only show the production of G4 antibodies — markers of the body's tolerance to food, not a pathological reaction.

Such tests cannot determine foods that "should not be eaten" — unlike tests included in the "Allergy" package. We focus on evidence-based methods that confirm true immune reactions.

Functional and Visual Tests
  • Skin prick tests for 10 allergens, including house dust, mites, mold, weeds; if necessary — cat/dog dander
  • Spirometry with bronchodilator test — assessment of respiratory function (exclusion or confirmation of bronchial obstruction)
  • Chest X-ray is performed in complex cases or with concomitant heart/lung diseases

Consultations
  • Initial allergist appointment: medical history collection, risk assessment, diagnostic "roadmap"
  • Follow-up appointment: review of research results, formation of a personalized treatment and prevention plan

How the Examination Proceeds

All medical services within the package can be obtained in two visits:

First visit: consultation, blood collection, initial tests. If you are not taking antihistamines and bronchodilators, prick tests and spirometry can also be performed immediately.

Follow-up visit: if necessary — delayed skin tests and/or spirometry, discussion of results, and issuance of recommendations in the form of a step-by-step plan. We prepare final conclusions for patients immediately when all research results are ready.

What's Important to Know About Treatment

We treat not only the symptoms, but also the causes of allergy, helping patients prevent recurrences of this condition and achieve lasting improvement in well-being.

The main treatment methods include eliminating contact with irritating factors (for example, switching to a hypoallergenic diet for food allergies), medication support, and allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT).

ASIT is currently the only allergy treatment method in which minimal doses of an allergen are introduced into the body, gradually "training" the immune system to this substance. This approach helps reduce sensitivity, alleviate the course of allergy, and reduce the risk of future exacerbations.

If your symptoms are not related to acute allergic reactions, but to discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract, bloating, or unstable digestion, we recommend undergoing a comprehensive intestinal assessment as part of the "Microbiome and Eating Behavior" package. This will help identify the cause of discomfort and select appropriate treatment.
