How We Saved a Tooth and Eliminated Pain Caused by Severe Inflammation
A patient came to us with pain when biting down on a lower molar. To identify the exact cause, we performed a CBCT scan and found extensive inflammation in the bone beneath the tooth roots, up to 7 mm in diameter.
The cause was loss of vitality of the tooth pulp. Bacteria from the root canals had spread into the surrounding bone and triggered tissue breakdown. Without timely treatment, this could have led to complete tooth loss and worsening pain.
What the general dentist did. Under a microscope, the doctor carefully cleaned the root canals, disinfected and sealed them, and monitored healing at every stage.
Results after 8 months. The bone around the roots fully regenerated, pain while chewing disappeared, and the tooth was preserved and functions like a healthy one.
